a historic breakthrough when it looked like the nomination of the Minister of State for Women Affairs, placing the President that major responsibility for fighting Maria Leon, President of the National Women's Institute and member National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), a story seems to tarnish the way of building an alternative institutional equality between women and men in Venezuelan society. Another fellow engaged in the struggle for social inclusion, building socialism and the fight against gender discrimination, Gioconda Mota, President of the Foundation Mission Madres del Barrio "Josefa Joaquina Sánchez", is forced to resign the editorship of the Foundation. The measure announced today by representatives of the Vice President of the Republic and the Ministry of Popular Power for Participation and Social Protection, is part of the struggle undertaken by the Foundation to deal with bureaucratic obstacles affecting the timely delivery of resources for financial allocations to be canceled mothers in extreme poverty, which led to the publication of notices public to formally apologize for the inconvenience generated by the delayed cancellation of such assignments. The last of the notices was published yesterday in the daily Ultimas Noticias.
Similarly, the measure looks inexplicable when only a few weeks earlier, the Madres del Barrio Mission conducted a national act to claim the role of poor women in framework of the Bolivarian Revolution in promoting socialist production system and the sovereign struggle against U.S. imperialism. Such a ceremony presided over by the newly appointed Minister of State for Women's Affairs, was picked up widely in the media, and its performance beat the obstacles and difficulties created by the Ministry of Popular Power for Participation and Social Protection.
It is this Ministry that takes the lead to run out of Gioconda Mota, before confirming the attachment Foundation Mission Madres del Barrio to the new Minister of State for Women's Affairs, together with the National Institute Women and the Bank Women. In such a way that the joy that brought the appointment of compatriot Maria Leon, suffered an unexpected setback in shaping the necessary institutions organized struggle to overcome discrimination based on reasons of social exclusion and gender.
